'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the nail-biting dying seconds of Swansea's remarkable turnaround victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear after the on-field celebration.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a long-range effort from distance, and his teammate promptly hammered in the loose ball before charging toward the home end to celebrate, with supporters congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory completed an unbelievable comeback given Swansea had trailed 2-0 deep into the latter period. Amid the euphoria, there was some unintended consequences. The midfielder recalled, "There was a spectator shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're individuals, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

That win earned a upcoming fixture at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a team Galbraith came close against at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with the London side in February. He had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. It seems unfair that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've credited him for taking the effort on from that range," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right flank after Orient changed tactics. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he swapped shirts, and the player was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way the underdogs approached the match.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are very good but even the simple things and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," he explains. "It seems as if they never miss a pass and they know how to dictate and neutralize a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It takes a tough attitude and focus just to remain competitive."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a fans' favourite across a couple of years at Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in Wales. At his previous team he linked up again with his former manager, who four years ago gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in senior football on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a loan at lower division Salford, before he departed Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was perhaps a bit naive going into professional soccer. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without real physicality. There are limited tackles or duels. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adjust fast."

Country Call-ups

He has shown that growth for both domestically and internationally, performing well for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including both legs games against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, paid him the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

It has been quite the ride for the player from the neighborhood in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his parent, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

His only game for United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a Europa League trip to the Kazakh capital, where they played on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was closed owing to conditions of -15C. "This represented a long trip and it was cold out there," he says, smiling. "The week before, the academy prospects trained together, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged his mid-teens? "It was relatively straightforward, because I reached the point where I understood I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm hugely grateful for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I believed I had to take a different path, join a smaller club and play men's football. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

New Environment

It is mid-afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a learner's exam, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to Sketty, the young professional was a regular in Swansea's so-called fun bus, a small coach driven by team personnel, the transport team, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself the Portuguese player, another squad member, the midfielder – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to interact with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. The Portuguese player likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Fan Interactions

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on the Tube after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
